At Littleover Learning Hub, an independent family-run tuition centre, our small, friendly team of qualified and experienced teachers believe that happy children are the best learners. We aim to build confidence and raise self-esteem alongside raising academic abilities. Our detailed ongoing assessments enable us to pinpoint the areas of weakness that may be hindering your child’s progress at school so that our tuition is focused and effective. Our wide range of carefully selected resources are up-to-date and reflect the changing requirements of the new Primary curriculum and changes to the Y6 SATs, GCSE syllabus, grading system and exam requirements.
The tutoring industry is unregulated. This means that anyone can establish themselves as a tutor and there are no set ‘rules’ or guidelines for working as a tutor or running a tutoring centre. Teachers go through many years of training (usually around four years full-time) to a postgraduate level. During this time, they study the National Curriculum in depth, learn how to interpret the objectives and outcomes into lessons and ensure that students understand the concepts required to understand how to work with confidence and independence.
Teachers also explore the psychology behind children – their behaviours, learning journey as well as emotional and social development. Alongside the theory of teaching (education) and learning, around three ‘teaching practices’ are completed, whereby a student teacher works in the classroom, under guidance by a qualified and experienced teacher, following good practice and putting their theories to use.
