In today’s world it is necessary for most occupations and further education courses to gain at least a grade 5 (previously ‘C grade’) at GCSE English and Maths.
At Littleover Learning Hub we have specialist GCSE teachers, who work with small groups, and are fully up-to-date with the new GCSE curriculum, grading system and exam requirements for English, Maths & Science.
Liz is our lead English teacher; she is a very experienced, qualified teacher, who works with KS3, GCSE and A-Level pupils, and her results speak for themselves!
Focusing on both Language and Literature GCSE papers, Liz ensures that students are confident with the Reading and Writing skills required to work competently through both styles of English.
Using our own resources, matched with other more widely available revision guides, we ensure grammar and sentence structure is of the highest level to reach maximum potential.
Students are encouraged to develop independent revision skills to identify their own areas of weakness that they can bring to tuition sessions. We then teach pupils the best strategies to learn and embed new concepts, which can then be incorporated into independent revision times at home.
Nick is our lead Maths teacher; he is fully qualified, highly experienced and achieves outstanding results. He works with KS3 and GCSE pupils using his many years’ experience of the skills and concepts needed to achieve those all important GCSE grades. In-depth knowledge of grade boundaries, syllabus and exam requirements are used to ensure all students can achieve their highest possible grade.
A range of resources are used to teach and reinforce mathematical concepts alongside past papers to form a comprehensive and structured programme of study.
We are currently in the process of recruiting a new Science teacher.
